With hardware giants such as HTC and Samsung churning out Android phones, the Google created operating system has emerged as a major player in the mobile arena. Determined to have a share of the while hot mobile OS market Microsoft to launched its entrant Windows Phone 7 into the fray.

The HTC HD7 weight in at a slightly heavy 5.7 ounces (that's around 160 grams), with dimensions of 2.67x4.8x.044 inches. By usual smart phone standards, it is a little heavy. The phone boasts of a 4.3 inch touch screen with a 800x480 resolution, that is nearly 90 percent of the phone's face is the display area. The phone has a kickstand which can be used to prop it up while watching a movie. The screen is finger print phone, but nothing that a screen protector can't prevent.

The HD7 truly makes the windows desktop mobile, with the huge screen immersing you in to a sort of desktop experience. Reading web pages, Web surfing, composing messages is a breeze. The pinch to zoom and flick to expand capability makes browsing pictures and pages as smooth as skimming the surface of water.

Moving on the camera, the HD7ships with a respectable five mega pixel camera. it has a pretty snappy auto focus feature, allowing even the most amateur of photographers to capture quite stunning pictures. It also has a dual LED flash and ships with the usual collection of different effects such as sepia tones and so on. The digital zoom is pretty impressive as well.

When it comes to videos, it offers recording modes from 480p to 720p, with the 720p recording mode providing great videos that look just as impressive on big screen. For any Xbox lover the games portal is like a gateway to their private game world where their avatar lives, interacts with other avatars, and of course, partakes in various gaming activities such as tournaments and simple pleasure playing.

The best part of the HD7 is that it is an amalgam of two very exciting components; the hardware powered by HTC and the software none other than Windows Phone 7. The windows Phone 7 OS is not without  its faults, but its advantages like usability, power and simple beauty.
